Chronology of cameras Ihagee

The Ihagee model 2850 (or A model) Westentaschen-Auto-Ultrix for 127 rollfilm, appears in the Ihagee catalogues from 1932 to as late as 1939. The camera is self-erecting (hence ‘Auto’) and was produced in a variety of combinations of shutters and lenses. The camera shares the body with the Ihagee Parvola, as well as a number of its features. There is a folding Newton finder (equivalent to the top of the Parvola) which folds automatically on the right side, where is also located the film advance knob. Helical focusing is made by a lever behind the shutter casing.

A number of minor features vary along production, such as the red window cover at the back or the film pressure plate type.

This camera has an automatic Gauthier Prontor II shutter, with a delay mechanism, that delivers speeds in the range 1 to 1/175 plus B and T. The lens is a Ihagee Anastigmat of 70 mm of focal length and maximum aperture of 4.5.
